I have the 24-200 already but bought the 24-70 f/4 based on a lot of great reviews of it and in the hope that it would be a smaller, lighter alternative for walking around. I have been comparing it with my 24-200 and honestly for me, I can only see where the 24-70 is better if I really pixel-peep in the corners. As such I have found the 24-70 f/4 a surprisingly useful compact solution for my preferences. No, it's not a 2.8 lens, but I'm mostly using it outdoors, so the extra stop isn't critical, and the Either way, any difference vs the 16-55 is small and, considering the size and weight of the 24-70 f4, I expected much less from the Nikon "kit" lens. I still love my Fuji gear but Nikon Z lenses are the reason to buy into this system. (There is a 24-70mm f/4 S, but there’s no 70-200mm f/4 S on the roadmap yet, or indeed any lightweight telephoto.) NIKON Z 7 + NIKKOR Z 14-30mm f/4 S @ 18.5mm, ISO 64, 20 seconds, f/5.0 At the time of publishing this article, the 14-30mm f/4 is one of two native ultra-wide lenses for the Nikon mirrorless system (i.e., wider than 24mm). Features. This is the full-frame mirrorless camera for those who sweat every little detail. There's the ultra-high resolution of 45.7 megapixels with no optical low-pass filter. The power of dual processors. 4K Ultra HD video at 60p. The next-generation 493-point autofocus system. Support. Open the box and get ready to take beautiful photos and videos with the 24.5MP Z 6 and NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S zoom lens. With a constant f/4 maximum aperture that is optimized for the Z cameras, this lens is ideal for all manner of photos and videos, from interviews and product demos to interiors and portraits. The lens is lightweight at 577g (without lens hood) and has the same 67mm filter-thread as the Nikon Z 17-28mm f2.8, Z 28-75mm f2.8, and (presumably) the Z 70-180 f2.8. And for those who like to capture small objects the 70-300mm f4.5-6.3 Di III allows for a maximum magnification of 1:4.6 at the long end with a good working distance. Using the 24-70 on the z50 gives you a slightly faster lens at the expense of the wider angle of the 16-50, and you won't notice the gain on the long end. You're trading the field of view of a wide angle lens (16 equiv to 24 fov) for a slightly wider than normal (24 equiv to 36 fov), and gaining a slightly longer short tele fov on the long end The Nikkor Z 24-50mm F4-6.3 is Nikon's most compact and affordable ($400 MSRP) lens for full-frame Z-mount cameras. It's also one of two lenses available as a kit with the excellent, entry-level Nikon Z5 body, and collapses down to a mere 51mm (2") when retracted. While it's certainly not the fastest glass in town, it is respectably sharp for a LPdV.
